This position was centred on Goyfield House, with fire trenches and communication trenches surrounded by one to two belts of wire. A four belt wire obstacle extended on both flanks, to the Vicarage Position on the left and Felixstowe Town Position on the right. Goyfield House was prepared for defence. Trenches were revetted with timber and wire netting. Corrugated iron sheets were to be laid over the fire trenches for weather cover for sentries. Sections of trenches also had overhead cover. The Vicarage was prepared for defence and surrounding walls loopholed.
